The UAE’s transformation over the past decade has been remarkable; the futuristic cities have made it one of the most advanced nations in the world. The stunning skyline of the UAE is set to change yet again with a plethora of new projects and communities. This year, twenty-six projects in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates are expected to be completed, according to the Slideshow above and list below.

Among the megaprojects, an iconic new airport terminal, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, and an impressive Hindu temple in the capital’s Abu Mureikha district, set to feature seven spires, one for each of the UAE’s emirates, will soon grace the UAE skyline.

Built to serve as a launchpad for Etihad Airways, the new Dh10.8 billion ($2.94 billion) Midfield Terminal Building (MTB) at the Abu Dhabi International Airport is the most significant modification in the aviation landscape of the UAE capital.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, the first SeaWorld location outside of North America, will open on Yas Island. Spanning about 183,000 square meters, the aquatic park will feature habitats, rides, interactive exhibits and immersive guest experiences for visitors. Additionally, the park will have the UAE’s first dedicated marine research, rescue, rehabilitation, and return center, aiding in conservation projects and indigenous ecosystems in the Arabian Gulf.

The UAE will also be home to an impressive Hindu temple in Abu Mureikha district, with construction underway. The pink sandstone temple will tell ancient stories from Indian scriptures and feature seven spires representing each of the UAE’s emirates. The temple will stand 32 meters tall and will be built using more than 30,000 pieces of stone and millions of handmade clay bricks.

These projects reflect the UAE’s commitment to furthering its growth and development to maintain its status as a world-renowned tourist destination. The country’s vision for development and the efforts to build unique, sustainable, and ambitious projects have enhanced UAE’s position as a global leader in innovation and progress.
